I have recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, what do I do now?
We are committed to assisting people living with Type 2 Diabetes, recently diagnosed or existing with the daily management of their blood glucose and their physical and mental wellbeing.
It’s not uncommon to feel alone and confused concerning the new daily management of your diet and exercise routines.
We hope the MSW® care support platform will assist you in this aim.
Does the sensor have a needle?
No, you will be relieved to hear it is NEEDLE-FREE!
Is the transmitter/sensor painful to wear?
No, it sits comfortably on (not under) your skin.
Positioned conveniently on the outside of your upper arm for a 14 hour period of any given day.
The bluetooth enabled transmitter sends an updated blood glucose reading every 5 minutes to your smart phone
(The equivalent of up to 168 FINGERPRICK TESTS over 14 hours).
Allowing you to establish over a typical day
YOUR GLUCOSETRENDING® PATTERN.
These numerous blood glucose readings then allow an accurate calculation of
YOUR DAILY TIME-IN-RANGE SCORE (e.g 70% T.I.R SCORE®).
Your TIME-IN-RANGE TARGET can be agreed between you and your personal MSW® Diabetes Specialist Nurse.
This empowers you to improve your daily blood glucose control and general wellbeing.

No, it’s very important to understand that we do not advise you on changes to your current medication only your Doctor or Nurse Prescriber can do that.
Do I need to stop attending my medical appointments with my GP or Diabetes Nurse?
No, it’s very important to continue to see your GP and Diabetes Specialist Nurse as usual.
The function of our MSW® care support platform is to provide personalised guidance on your diet, exercise and wellbeing to guide you towards remission of your Type 2 Diabetes at your own pace.
Why do you supply me with a conventional glucose meter and test strips?
You may wish to calibrate the device with a fingerprick test strip using this glucose meter first thing each morning before breakfast, you can then input your fasting blood glucose reading into the MSW® Glucose app on your smart phone.
This then matches up your capillary blood glucose to the reading on your smart phone to support greater accuracy.

How many times should I wear the sensor each month?
Expert opinion has established (the Advanced Technologies and Treatments for Diabetes (ATTD) Congress February 2019) 1 that the management of Type 2 Diabetes by reference to the HbA1c test (the Doctor’s universally acknowledged blood test to determine average blood glucose levels over a 120 day continuous period), can be improved with just 3 consecutive days a month of continuous glucose monitoring.
The conclusion of the congress panel was based on the results of just 3 days study, comprising 7 fingerprick tests performed daily. So a total of 21 fingerprick tests over that period.
The MySugarWatch® device will provide between 500-600 blood glucose readings over 3 consecutive days.
